In many cases, we need to compress PDF files to share them more easily. For example, you want to email a PDF file or share it on a social network. Its high volume makes it difficult for you to do this and for others to access it.
In this tutorial, we are going to teach you how to reduce the size of a PDF file by 60% and share it in the shortest possible time.
How to compress your PDF files on Mac?
In this tutorial, we use the PDF Squeezer program, which provides us with various features. Features such as compressing PDF files, separating several pages from a PDF file into a separate PDF file, etc.
1- First, download the PDF Squeezer program from this link.
2- After downloading, extract the zip file using The Unarchiver program and run the DMG file.
3- Now drag & drop the program icon to the Applications folder to install the program.
4- After installing the program, run it to see the following screen.
5- From the top tabs of the program, go to the Compress tab.
6- According to the image below, click on the Target File section and identify your PDF file to the program.
7- Wait for a few seconds until it shows you all the compression modes with the desired volume.
Note: Depending on the size of your PDF file, the time will vary.
8- Now choose your desired compression method and click on the Compress button.
Note: I chose the General Compression method in this tutorial.
9- Now your file is saved in the location you specified, and as you can see in the image below, our PDF file was compressed from 12 MB to 2 MB.
